VECS COVID Information

Starting on Wednesday, March 2nd masks will be strongly encouraged but no longer mandatory for in-school use.

The exception to this rule is if a person tests positive for COVID-19, the person MUST mask for days 6-10 following the positive test when returning to school. This is a requirement from the NY State Health Department.

Bus Transportation
Students  will enter the school building through multiple doors and will walk directly to their classroom or to breakfast in the cafeteria. ECS staff members will be on the bus loop and in the hallways to welcome your child and guide him or her to the classroom if needed.
 
Personal Transportation
Drop off will occur at the front, hillside entrance and in the hillside parking lot. Vehicles will enter the parking lot and drive to the door to drop off their children for the day. Parents are encouraged to pull up by the door and have the child exit the car and walk directly to the door. If a parent chooses to walk their child to the door, they may park in an available parking space. Please note - Parents and visitors are not permitted inside the school building.  ECS staff members will be at the door to welcome your child and guide him or her to the classroom if needed.

Bus Transportation
Teachers will walk children to their bus each afternoon.
 
Personal Transportation
If you are picking up children in multiple buildings, please begin to move through the pick-up process in the following order based on the buildings you need to visit: ECS to VPS to VIS. 
 
Please enter and park in the lot that corresponds to your child’s last name and proceed to the corresponding door. A staff member will walk your child out to you.

Assigned seating with students maintaining social distance in the cafeteria.
 

Snacks will be eaten in the classroom, maintaining 3 feet of social distance.

Shared materials to be cleaned regularly. A strong focus on hand hygiene will continue.

Students will attend in the special area classroom and will maintain social distancing of 3 feet.

Limited during the 2021-2022 school year and at the discretion of building administrators. No visitors during lunch. Visitors are strongly encouraged but are no longer mandated to wear a mask to enter the building.

Meet and greets / orientations will be in person with social distancing.
