VIS Follett ChallengeVI

As you likely know, the VIS Community Read has long been an outstanding kick-off to our school year; without question it sets a positive tone around literacy and generates much enthusiasm from our students, staff, and families.

Recently, our Library Media Specialist, Maggie Elliott, entered our Community Read in the Follett Challenge.  This challenge encourages schools to submit a literary activity or event their school believes has a significant impact on students.  With the help of our staff and students, our entry was submitted several weeks ago.  Winning schools have the opportunity to receive up to $30,000 from Follett to support literary initiatives in schools.

Below you will find a flyer that directs you to the Follett website.  This week, individuals over the age of 13 will have the opportunity to "vote" for the VIS Community Read which increases our odds receiving recognition and funding.  I encourage you to visit this site and vote this week, January 21-25.  Thanks for your support!
