February 7, 2020 NEWSLETTER VSHS eNews - February 7/8, 2020 Dear Families,
I hope everyone has had a good week and was able to navigate the tough weather conditions the past 24 hours has brought to our region. Last night at the hockey game a student asked me about the probability of having a snow day today, and I told him "I'll believe it when I see it." Well, it happened and I am sure our students and staff are enjoying this unexpected long weekend! When we have a snow day, we "skip" the letter day of the day(s) off and pick right back up with the scheduled letter day when we get back. For instance, today was supposed to be a "D" day - when we come back to school on Monday 2/10 it will be an "A" day. I will send a reminder to the students this weekend via e-mail about this as well. I have also had several inquiries about the Pre-ACT exam. As of right now, we are still planning on administering the Pre-ACT tomorrow, Saturday, February 8th. Students who have registered should report the the Senior High Main Office entrance by 7:45 am. Please bring two #2 pencils (not mechanical), a calculator, and snacks/water. All students should arrive before 7:45am and it should be completed by approximately 11:30am. On a side note - I did not send a weekly eNews last week because I was home with influenza. We have had several students and staff who have experienced it this year. If your child is experiencing symptoms of illness, please have them stay home. Our teachers will be flexible with deadlines for assignments, and we will work with your child to get them caught up with their school work.
Here is the news for this week....
