Community Resources
As a school community, we are dedicated to supporting the whole child and the whole family. We understand that family life comes with many demands, and sometimes a little extra support can make a big difference.
Below are a few resources that can help if needed. If you have any questions, or need other assistance, please reach out to your child's school social worker.
Ways to Find Help
The Spot
If your family could use food support:
SpotMart is a school-based food pantry. We provide monthly bags of non-perishable food which are available for pick up or can be delivered to your doorstep. For those living in temporary housing or with limited kitchen access, we can also provide microwave-friendly and easy-to-prepare items.
There’s no application process - if you need food support just fill out the registration form and choose delivery or pick-up. If you need food before our next scheduled distribution, please reach out to your school counselor or social worker, and we’ll work with them to get your family what you need.
If you have questions about our program please reach out to us at executivedirector@thespotny.
Help Feed a Student
You can make a big difference for a local child. A monthly donation of $15 to The Spot feeds a student all year long and allows us to say, "Yes" every time a family asks for assistance. One-time donations of any amount are also greatly appreciated - every dollar supports students in our school own community.
