V. NYSED Initiatives Alignment

  1. How will the district’s use of instructional technology support a comprehensive and sustained effort to improve student performance and academic standards, while also addressing the need to provide equitable learning opportunities “everywhere, all time” (National Technology Standard)

The district's use of instructional technology can support a comprehensive and sustained effort to improve student performance and academic standards, while addressing the need for equitable learning opportunities “everywhere, all time”, through a multifaceted strategy focusing on Access, Differentiation, Data-Driven Instruction, and Professional Development.

    1. Professional development:
Technology is used not only for student instruction but also for teacher growth. Sustained improvement requires ongoing PD that focuses on best practices for integrating new tools, ensuring technology is used to transform learning, not just digitize old methods.

    2. Data-driven instruction:
Educational software provides teachers and administrators with real-time data on student performance, highlighting specific learning gaps (e.g., which standard or skill students are struggling with). This allows for immediate instructional adjustments rather than waiting for end-of-unit or state tests.

    3. Differentiation
Adaptive software tailors content and pace, ensuring every student is challenged or supported, leading to sustained progress against standards.

    4. Access
      1. Providing 1:1 device programs (laptops or tablets) and off-campus Wi-Fi solutions (e.g., mobile hotspots) ensures that all students, regardless of their socio-economic background or home internet access, have the resources needed to participate fully in the curriculum.
      2. This eliminates the "homework gap" and guarantees that learning can happen "everywhere" (at home, libraries, etc.).

  2. At the start of the 2026-2027 school year, will the district offer full-time virtual instruction to any students?

None of our students participate in full-time virtual instruction.

  3. If the district files or has filed a Smart Schools Investment Plan (SSIP) to apply for Smart Schools Bond Act funds, all responses in this survey align with the district’s response to any related question(s) in the SSIP.

The district does not have an active SSIP
