Victor DECA Shines at State Career Conference

Congratulations to the 58 Victor High School students who attended the DECA State Career Conference held at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center February 26-28, 2020. With 2,300 students in attendance, the competition was fierce. We are proud of every one of our VHS students who earned the opportunity to attend. DECA is an international academic club helping to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs to be college and career ready.  

Victor High School DECA members earning a trophy and multiple medals at the state conference have the opportunity to compete at the International Career Development Conference in Nashville, TN. ICDC is the culmination of the DECA year. More than 20,000 high school students, teachers-advisors, business professionals and alumni gather for DECA excitement and competition. Two additional students have been selected to attend DECA’s Emerging Leaders Series at the ICDC conference. The academy will help our students attain 21st Century Skills in the areas of collaboration and teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving and creativity. In addition, congratulations to eight of our VHS seniors who were inducted into the NYS DECA Honor Society. To be eligible for this honor the student had to meet the following requirements:

  • 90% or higher GPA in business classes
  • Be currently taking a business class
  • DECA for three years or more
  • Attend the State Career Conference
  • Demonstrate Leadership, Community Service and Character
