It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, Mr. Jim Haugh, has accepted the position of Superintendent in the East Rochester Union Free School District. Although I have only worked with Jim for a few months, I have been impressed with his integrity, character, work ethic and ability to problem solve and collaborate with all constituents. He has been a true leader of the Victor Central School District throughout his 27 years working in our community. Jim began his career at VCS as an exceptional teacher and coach, influencing thousands of our students in positive ways and building connections with everyone he interacted with. After his teaching career, Jim spent 9 years as an Assistant Principal at the high school and the last 9 years as Assistant Superintendent.
Throughout his tenure at VCS Mr. Haugh has always put kids at the forefront of his decision making and has been a role model for all. East Rochester is extremely lucky to have him as their next Superintendent. Mr. Haugh will look to transition to East Rochester in mid-August. We will have more information on our District’s next steps regarding a hiring plan for this critical position by the end of this week.
On behalf of the Board of Education, congratulations to Jim. His legacy and commitment to the families of VCS will never be forgotten.
