VCS Giving Tree Keeps on Giving

VCS Giving Tree Keeps on Giving

Each year, the VCS Giving Tree program helps hundreds of families in need celebrate the holidays by collecting pre-wrapped gifts. In the past, donors selected a gift tag filled with a child’s unique wish – a doll, a game, new jeans, etc. This year, due to the pandemic and social distancing guidelines, the Giving Tree branched out in a new direction.

Instead of shopping for specific gifts, donors were asked to provide gift cards for parents to use to shop for their own children. Despite the change, Intermediate School building secretary and Giving Tree organizer, Jody Drew said community donors came through in a big way, contributing 464 gift cards to be distributed to 100 VCS families this year.
