Food Services Department Welcomes Cornell Intern

The VCS Food Services Department is pleased to welcome its new fall intern, Abby McClosky. Abby is a dietetic intern at Cornell University and will be completing a 2-month rotation at Victor Central School District in the Food Services Department as part of her dietetic internship to become a registered dietitian. Her role will be to work on research related to school meals, provide nutrition education for teachers and students and assist the Food and Nutrition Services Director, Alix TePoel-Dewitt, with menu planning, purchasing and other related tasks. Abby graduated from Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy in February 2022 with a master’s degree in biochemical and molecular nutrition science and a specialization in human nutrition. Abby also completed the Didactic Program in Dietetics at Simmons University in spring of 2021. Some of Abby’s personal interests include road biking, creating easy and nutritious recipes, and going on walks on the beaches of her hometown of Portland, Maine with her dog, Ginger. Welcome Abby!
