On Thursday, June 9th during its regular meeting, the Board of Education appointed Robert La Ruche as the Interim Principal of the Early Childhood School. La Ruche will serve as the Interim Principal until a permanent hire can be made to replace Keary Pender who resigned at the end of the school year.
La Ruche comes to VCS with more than 35 years of experience. Most recently, he was the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources for Wayne Central Schools from 2015 to 2019. Prior to that, he was the Principal for the Ontario Primary School from 1998 to 2015 and the Acting Superintendent for the Wayne Central School District in 2014. Before becoming a school administrator, La Ruche was a social studies teacher at the Fillmore Central School District for nine years and a staff developer for Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES for five years.
Mr. La Ruche is currently a Leadership Coaching Consultant for the Wilson Center for Professional Development and Education Reform at University of Rochester.
