Weekly Message from the Superintendent

May 8, 2026

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a fantastic week. We have several exciting updates and important reminders to share as we head into the weekend.

First, I want to extend a special thank you to our PTSA for facilitating the Board of Education "Meet the Candidates" night this past Tuesday. In addition to the discussion with our candidates, we held a public Budget Presentation. If you were unable to attend, you can find the recording and comprehensive budget information on our website. Please keep an eye on your mailbox for our budget newsletter arriving in the next few days, and look for more detailed information on our social media throughout next week.

As a reminder, if you are not already registered to vote in general elections, our Voter Registration day is Tuesday, May 12, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm in our District Office. Additionally, the School Budget Vote will take place the following Tuesday, May 19, from 6:00 am until 9:00 pm in the ECS Boardroom.

With the arrival of warmer weather, it is wonderful to see more of our students enjoying the walk or ride to and from school. To keep our roads as safe as our classrooms, I would like to share a few reminders. Our campuses can become quite congested during drop-off and pick-up times, so we appreciate you driving slowly (the campus speed limit is 15 mph) and looking out for one another. Choosing to slow down and allowing a few extra minutes for your commute ensures that every student gets to and from school safely.

Additionally, as we see more e-bikes and scooters on the road, please take a moment to review the specific laws regarding their use. In New York State, riders must be at least 16 years old to operate an e-bike, and helmet use is critical for our students' safety. I have attached a helpful flyer from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office so parents and students can review these regulations together. A huge thank you as well to our safety and traffic teams for their tireless efforts to keep safety a top priority during arrival and dismissal.

This week, we also continued to celebrate our incredible faculty and staff! In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we recognize that a teacher’s role extends far beyond academics. Our educators are the cornerstone of our district, teaching our children character and social-emotional intelligence while ensuring every student feels a sense of belonging and value at VCS. We also celebrated School Nurse Appreciation Day on Wednesday. Our phenomenal nurses do an amazing job ensuring the health and well-being of our students and staff, and we greatly appreciate their leadership. We are also so grateful to the Victor PTSA for the wonderful staff appreciation celebrations and their year-round support.

One of the hallmarks of VCS is our commitment to providing comprehensive opportunities for our students. On the heels of the recent announcement that Victor was rated one of the best schools for music education in the country, I am proud to share that Victor Junior High has been named a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Distinguished Gateway School, and Victor Senior High has been named a PLTW Distinguished High School. This recognition celebrates our commitment to increasing student engagement and achievement in technology and engineering programs. Thank you to our Career and Occupational Studies teachers for their tremendous impact on improving opportunities for our students.

Finally, I want to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all of our VCS moms! I hope your Sunday is filled with rest, relaxation, and quality time with your families. Have a wonderful weekend, and please reach out if you have any questions.

With gratitude,

Tim
