VCS Educational Foundation Supports Spanish Learning
Elizabeth Welch

Mrs. Sanzotta’s Senior High Spanish 4 students enjoyed a special reading lesson this fall thanks to the generosity of the Victor Central Schools Educational Foundation Grant received over the summer.

With the grant money, a series of new, authentic Spanish-language books were purchased! Sanzotta said the books, which are housed in her classroom's new 'mini library,' enable students to engage in meaningful conversations about the importance of learning a second language through real, contemporary texts.

Students also brought their picnic blankets to the lesson to create a cozy space and to reconnect with the joy of reading many remember from their younger years. "It was a wonderful experience that combined reflection, language learning, and a genuine love for reading in the target language," Sanzotta said.

The VCS Educational Foundation supports students and staff throughout the school year by providing resources to expand existing activities and create new educational opportunities. For more information or to learn how to become involved with the Foundation, please visit their website.
